They make the handcrafts and the club sells them and sends 100% of all proceeds to pay the women an income and provide other community benefits such as ambulances, propane stoves, and solar lanterns to help improve the quality of the women's lives and the lives of their families.

    Home Grown Gardens has been spreading its roots and servicing LA County since 2012. We are edible landscaping and composting specialists who are passionate about regenerative agriculture and closed loop system thinking. A team of avid gardeners with diverse backgrounds in urban agriculture, community garden education and herbal medicine, we are excited to grow with you!
    At Home Grown Gardens, our goal is to bring back the true meaning of "locally-grown" food and to build vibrant communities.

    Shemesh means “sun” in Hebrew. And no matter who we are, what we do, or where we live, we are all given the gift of the sun. Our farm and enterprise are built upon a foundation of sustainability, inclusion, and interconnectedness. Shemesh Farms began in 2015 at the Shalom Institute in Malibu, California with a vision of creating a social enterprise that provides meaningful employment and community to adults who have diverse abilities.
